HSV is a long time supplier of expanded polystyrene EPS. The features of EPS offer a variety of product solutions. Widely used as protective packaging for refrigerators and other appliances. Also suitable to use as insulation material and semi-finished products for a large range of (industrial) products.<\/h3>\n

What is EPS?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Back in 1949 Dr. Fritz Stastny, a scientist working at BASF in Germany, invented expanding polystyrene, in short: EPS. When the pearl-shaped raw material is exposed to steam it expands to around 40 times its original size. It can then be moulded during subsequent processing. This means that EPS consists largely of air, 98% to be exact. EPS has been known under a variety of names over the years. For example, polystyrene and foam packaging.<\/p>\n

Very suitable to use as a protective packaging material. In many supply chains for the transport of food, organs and specialized equipment.<\/p>\n

Semi-finished product for a variety of (industrial) products, for example components in air conditioners, heat recovery units and parts for motorcycle- and bicycle helmets.<\/p>\n

In agriculture to cultivate and grow crops.<\/p>\n

As insulation material in the construction industry, to insulate floors, walls and roofs and whereever weight saving is important, like aviation and automotive industrie.<\/p>\n

At various communitysites there are special EPS collecting bags available that offer the possibility to return your clean EPS, no adhesive residue etc. This returned EPS is provided to professional recycling companies for full recycling. EPS is 100% green and is used as raw material for many other plastic products. This way you directly contribute to a cleaner environment.<\/p>\n
