Meet Stijn Boom, Quality Manager with the particle foam engineers at HSV.<\/h3>\n\n\n

Stijn: ‘At HSV I am your first point of contact for quality issues or complaints and I am privileged to represent the wishes and requirements of our customers.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I head up a team that is responsible for safeguarding the quality of the products we manufacture for our customers, 24 hours a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Duties and responsibilities<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

When it comes to quality, Stijn is also involved in managing specifications, drawings and customer agreements, and the control plan. ‘I contribute suggestions during the feasibility phase and during the development phase, and must assess whether the quality of a product can be controlled or whether for example we need to use a jig,’ he explains. Stijn emphasises the importance of communication, a solution-oriented approach and an analytical mind. He also supervises the quality management system according to the ISO 9001:2015 standard, as well as motivating the workforce to comply with the standard, and to perform to the best of their ability, as professionals in the plastics industry.<\/p>\n\n\n

‘The quality department delivers process quality control. Our department plays a key role in raising quality to the next level,’ continues Stijn, ‘both when introducing quality innovations and the subsequent quality assurance. The QC department concentrates on product quality, while the QA department supervises and optimises the quality of the processes. The result is next level quality throughout our organisation.’<\/p>\n\n\n

Cooperation and tasks<\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

‘I perform a wide range of tasks in my current position. The cooperation with the various departments and colleagues ranges from chairing meetings with managers through to working hands on alongside operators, on the shop floor. I work with enthusiasm to optimise and continuously improve our organisation, both for our own benefit and that of our customers,’ he concludes.<\/p>\n\n\n

About Stijn<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

Stijn became fascinated by chemistry at a young age. With his background in chemistry, he completed the foundation phase in forensic chemistry before obtaining a certificate of higher professional education in quality and process management. With those skills on board, Stijn has the know-how to safeguard quality at HSV.<\/p>\n

Outside his work at HSV, Stijn spends his free time with his wife Esther, and shares his passion for airsoft, boardgames and online gaming with his friends.<\/p>\n\n\n
