Marcel Wanders, a famous Dutch industrial designer, found his way to HSV and designed his children’s chairs in EPP. Based on a design of a wooden chair with twisted legs, HSV started manufacturing the chairs in EPP.
The project was a challenge; during the design phase, the chair’s load and the rules on child safety played an important role. The adhesive connections in particular caused a few headaches. In the end, we succeeded in manufacturing an attractive product, which ended up at the large furniture fair in Milan.
The chair has a strengthening frame manufactured by HSV and we carried out the entire project in-house.
