Meet the team: Jan Willem van Nieuwenhuijsen
Jan Willem is Customer Service Employee at the particle foam engineers of HSV.
My motto: ‘A happy customer is a happy JW’… You could say that service is my middle name. I’m a real hands-on type of guy and that comes in handy in my job as a Customer Service Officer and also in my private time, when I regularly organise trips to international sporting events. But more on that later….
The work activities I undertake as a Customer Service Employee include:
- Processing customer orders
- Answering customer questions about orders, schedules and delivery times
- Maintaining an overview of production and assembly schedules
- All activities related to customer deliveries, such as releasing cargo for transport and notifying shipping companies for pick-up
- Supporting the Logistics Department
To ensure smooth processing and fulfilment of deliveries for our customers, I frequently consult with internal departments.
Satisfied customers
From my job, but also from a personal perspective, satisfied customers are important to me. If someone has a question, then I like to help and proactively try to come up with appropriate solutions.

About Jan Willem
I joined HSV as a sales service employee in 2010. I am still enjoying my work at this family firm, which will be celebrating its 55th anniversary next year!
Fun job
The fun thing about my job is the versatility and the fact that everything is right again at the end of the day; there are no loose ends. I also have great colleagues, which is important to me.
Lots of freedom
We have lots of freedom here at HSV. That’s really nice, since we have three young children (aged 11, 12 and 13) running around at home and it gives me the space to carry out my work activities at flexible times, if needed.
In my spare time, I can often be found on the korfball pitch, acting an active member of the board, or playing a tennis match.
Organised trips to sporting events in the USA
Another thing I really enjoy is the full-package trips to sporting events in the USA, which I arrange through www.eireizen.nl. This includes trips to NBA basketball, NHL ice hockey and NFL football events.
On 22 January 2023, we’ll be heading to Chicago and Milwaukee. From there, we’ll move on to Minnesota and get a guided tour in Minneapolis, the hometown of Prince. The sporting events we’ll be attending include games featuring the Chicago Bulls, Milwaukee Bucks and Minnesota Timberwolves. During these trips, I post daily updates that you can follow here.
